Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Try a Mexican circus, a short film, or a lecture by a spy

Sad you missed the DC Shorts Film Festival? Catch the final act at the official wrap party at Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar. Festival organizers are screening the movies that were selected as Best of DC Shorts 2010, and the bar is serving drink specials from Ketal One vodka. 7:30 to 9; no cover.

Get a glimpse into the even-more-secret-than-usual history of spies at the International Spy Museum with a discussion of the legendary A-12 Oxcart plane, used in a ten-minute mission to photograph North Korea. The information the plane gathered helped the United States locate the captured ship Pueblo. Tickets ($12.50) are available here. 6:30.

onight is the first of three performances by Cirko de Mente, a contemporary Mexican circus, at the Kennedy Center. The group’s innovative shows combine traditional circus acts, such as tightrope walking and trapeze, with street-theater moves. 7:30. Tickets ($25) are available here.
