Artist and filmmaker Matthew Barney traveled to Japan, made use of 45,000 pounds of petroleum jelly and a whaling vessel, and had it all filmed. His piece, “Drawing Restraint 9,” is a narrative sculpture that tells the story of two land mammals that turn into whales. Catch a screening of a documentary about the project at Artisphere at 8.
