Where & When: What to Do Tonight

A French poetry reading, bingo night, and a patio party

BOOKS: Caroline Kennedy will read from and sign copies of her new book, She Walks in Beauty: A Woman’s Journey Through Poems, at Barnes & Noble at Tysons Corner. Free; 7 PM. Get there early: mandatory wristbands will be distributed beginning at 5.

BENEFIT: Stop by happy hour at the newly opened patio at J&G Steakhouse and support the FAIR Fund at Pearls on the Patio. From 5:30 to 7:30 take advantage of discount cocktails and preview silent auction items for the organization’s main event on May 4. Ten percent of the night’s proceeds go to the FAIR Fund, which works to prevent human trafficking, and a $10 donation gets you $10 off your next visit to the J&G wine bar.

It’s bingo night at Degrees Bar & Lounge—drag queen style. In addition to bingo, there’ll be drinks, prizes, and a DJ. $10 suggested donation at the door; all proceeds benefit the Leukemia and Lymphorna Society. 7 to 9 PM.

POETRY: Hear internationally renowned French poet, songwriter, and author Mathieu Barcella at L’Alliance Francaise. His performance is billed as an innovative mix that can be enjoyed by French and non-French speakers alike. 7 PM; tickets are $12 at the door.
