Sample Flying Dog brews—some are being released for the first time—at Granville Moore’s six-course dinner with beer pairings. Start out with a “happy half hour,” then move onto courses like corn fritters with wild-game sausage; scallops with pumpkin risotto and bacon/poblano relish; and bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and Horn Dog Barley Wine. James Beard award-winning chef José Andrés joins gastronomic guru Ferran Adrià for a rare public discussion and Q&A. Adria closed ElBulli, his famed restaurant in Spain, this past July. He is now touring the States in support of his new cookbook, The Family Meal: Home Cooking with Ferran Adrià. $40 buys a ticket and the book; tickets for the event only are $20. Autumn Wine Harvest Festival at Cafe Du Parc at the Willard InterContinental Hotel

Celebrate the fall wine harvest at this historic hotel’s fourth annual Vendanges festival. Cafe du Parc chef Angelo Galang is planning an outdoor French barbecue with toulouse and merguez sausages; beef, chicken, and salmon brochettes; and more. There will also be crepes, beer, dancing, grape stomping, and of course, plenty of wine. Tickets can be purchased at the event and start at $25 per person, which buys four items from the food and wine stations.
Cigar Rolling and Cognac Tasting Class at the Jefferson Hotel

Women Chefs and Restaurateur’s World Fare Street Food Festival at Willow

Join some of the area’s culinary talent at Willow in Ballston, where female chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers will prepare an eclectic mix of street food and drinks. Nearly 30 chefs will be there, including Amy Brandwein of Casa Nonna, Shannon Overmiller of the Majestic, and Nora Pouillon of Restaurant Nora. Cocktail-makers include Alison Christ of Liberty Tavern, Megan Coyle from Hank’s Oyster Bar, Gina Chersevani from PS 7’s, and more. There will also be silent and live auctions.
