An elegant and eclectic Union Station wedding with dainty, mismatched details and plenty of twinkling candlelight.

How they met: On the bus in fourth grade

How they got engaged: Kyle proposed on a cold night outside by a fire

Wedding flowers: Baby’s breath, Charlie Brown roses, chocolate cosmos, and tiny bits of lime-green hydrangeas

Decor: A romantic palette with dainty, mismatched details and plenty of twinkling candlelight

Dessert: A 12-cake buffet and a “candy bar”—guests were given mason jars to fill with their favorite sweets

Wedding cocktail: Muddled blackberry lemonade

Bridesmaid dresses: Each attendant chose her own floor-length gown in a muted shade

First dance song: The National’s “Fake Empire”

Favorite detail: Christine made a “Mr.” and “Mrs.” tin-can telephone so the couple could talk across the long farm table they sat at during dinner
