Crystal Dunn, the 23-year-old Washington Spirit striker, went to Texas this weekend with the US Women’s National Team. To make sure everyone heard about it, she scored 5 goals in 81 minutes, tying the USWNT record for goals and points (she also assisted on a 90th minute closer).
The women went on to shut out Puerto Rico 10-0. Then they took a group photo.

In other DC sporting news, United claimed a 1-0 victory against the NASL’s Tampa Bay Rowdies, their first preseason win in three games. The goal, facilitated by new signing Luciano Acosta, probably should have been disallowed. First because TBR’s Darnell King does appear to successfully shepherd the ball out of play, and second because Acosta uses King’s shirtsleeve to slingshot himself back onto the pitch.
