Holiday weekends make for an ideal time to get out of town and do some shopping. If you’re sticking around the DC area for July 4, there’s a number of local outlet malls where you can not only get into your retail groove, but nab some deals along the way. Here’s six of them.

Tanger Outlet National Harbor

Drive from downtown DC: 30 minutes

Maryland’s National Harbor is home to a huge selection of discounted name-brand stores, from Tommy Hilfiger to Le Creuset to Michael Kors. Stop for fuel at Capital Chicken and Waffles before diving in for the deals like J. Crew Factory’s 50 percent discounts through July 5 and the store-wide 50 percent off sale at New York & Company through July 4.

Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets

Drive from downtown DC: 50 minutes

The open-air shopping center boasts over 110 outlet stores from designers and brands you’ll recognize, including luxury brands like Coach, athletic retailers like Adidas, and a host of places to shop for new workwear, like J. Crew Factory, Ann Taylor Factory Store, and Brooks Brothers Factory Store. For the July 4 weekend, the outlet has extended hours and will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM on July 1, 2, and 4, and from 10 AM to 8 PM on July 3. The center is also hosting a July 4 clearance sale Friday through Monday that will bring a sidewalk sale and live entertainment to the outlets.

Queenstown Premium Outlets

Drive from downtown DC: 1 hour

With a similar line-up as the Leesburg location, this installment of the Premium Outlets brings some bargain shopping to the Eastern Shore from big-name retailers like Kate Spade, Levi’s, St. John, Pacsun, and many more. For the holiday weekend, Nautica is offering 70 percent off men’s swim and shorts, while everything at Columbia will be marked 20 to 50 percent off. If you’ve got little ones in tow, the mall is also hosting face painting from noon to 2 PM on July 2.

Hagerstown Premium Outlets

Drive from downtown DC: 1.5 hours

This Maryland outlet mall is packed with over 100 discounted retailers. The center is also celebrating extended holiday hours, remaining open 9 AM to 9 PM July 1, 2, and 4 and from 10 AM to 8 PM on July 3. Visitors can also expect some live entertainment while they shop on Saturday July 2, from noon to 3 PM, in honor of the holiday. The longer open hours will give shoppers more time to snag deals like $25 off a $100 purchase at Adidas, 60 percent off your entire purchase at Kate Spade New York, and 40 to 60 percent off all stock at American Eagle Outfitters.

Tanger Outlets Rehoboth Beach

Drive from downtown DC: 2.5 hours

If you’re headed to the Rehoboth Beach for the weekend, you can double the fun by shopping the deals at the nearby outlet mall (not to mention escape from the middle-of-the-day heat). Grab some froyo from TCBY to cool off, then check out the sales, including 50 percent off at Cole Haan Outlet, 50 percent off certain styles at the Levi’s Outlet, and up to 70 percent off at the Nautica Factory Store.
