Approximately 400 bread lovers gathered on Thursday, September 29 at the French Embassy to attend the grand finale of the contest featuring four finalist bakeries: Bread Furst, Dog Tag Bakery, Fresh Baguette and Silva’s Patisserie.
The difficult task of tasting and judging the baguettes to choose the winners was shared by a jury of professionals and the audience.
Bread Furst won the jury’s prize, with the option of becoming the official provider for the Ambassador Gérard Araud’s residence for one year. The audience prize went to Fresh Baguette, who won over the hearts and palates of the event attendees.
Dog Tag Bakery and Silva’s Patisserie didn’t do so badly themselves, judging by the people constantly crowding their stands.
