Dupont Circle is home to a new rooftop bar at Decades nightclub. The 2,500 square-foot outdoor space channels a retro Miami vibe with palm trees, tropical plants, and a drink menu of nostalgic sips like orange crushes, mai tais, and for the ambitious, Jell-O shots.

The rooftop is “meant to make you feel as young and carefree as you did during the spring and summer when you were in college and early adulthood,” says owner Antonis Karagounis, who’s also behind nightlife destinations EchoStage and Soundcheck (among others).

The rooftop’s cocktail menu includes seasonal libations like coconut-and-mango jalapeño margaritas, strawberry basil lemonade, sangrias, and more. Patrons can also fire up a grill for parties and events. On Saturday, April 29, Decades will kick off its “Sunset Saturdays” series of early-evening parties featuring retro music and specialty drinks starting at 5 pm. Thanks to a retractable awning, the show will go on rain or shine.

Prices range widely. Guests will find free admission on Thursdays and Fridays before midnight, and Saturdays before 11 pm (it’s a $20 cover after). Those looking for a luxe nightclub experience to accompany the house and lounge music can reserve the rooftop’s VIP tables, where minimums start at $500 on Fridays.
