This future footnote of the pop culture universe arrived in our mailbox today from Mary Amons, a onetime cast member of the one-season reality TV show Real Housewives of DC. Viewers will remember Mary and her husband, Rich Amons, as the couple with many children, she the mother with a security code lock on her closet, and he the hubby in the patterned
trousers. The statement read:
“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I
have decided to end my 26-year marriage. While I have the deepest
respect
for my husband and wish him the very best, we have grown apart.
My primary focus is an amicable process, ensuring the wellbeing
of my five wonderful children and their happiness, which has
been, and will always be, of paramount importance. The weeks
and months ahead during this transition will not be easy for
them, and for my children’s sake, I appreciate you respecting
our privacy.”
So far, all of the married couples who appeared in the DC franchise have busted up. Stacie and Jason Turner separated in February after more than 14 years of marriage. Catherine and Charles Ommanney headed to splitsville before the show even aired. And, notoriously, Tareq
and Michaele Salahi split up after she ran off with a rock star.
