Simply ask for this package and provide proof of residency in the Annapolis, Baltimore, or Washington area. The package does not include taxes or a $12 resort fee and is available through March 30.

Lansdowne Resort near Leesburg is offering a couples’ Winter Romance package. Starting at $229 a night on Friday or Saturday—a 20-percent savings—it includes strawberries and Champagne and breakfast. If you add a second night, you also get a choice of Sunday jazz brunch (rather than breakfast), a $50 dinner credit, admittance to two resort events, or a two-for-one 50-minute spa treatment.
Besides a fitness center and spa, there’s 45 holes of golf, mountain biking, tennis, and hiking. The package is available weekends and holidays through March 27.

Country Roads
This is a good time of year to visit Hillbrook Inn, a country inn in West Virginia, and here’s why: its Count Down & Snuggle Up special. Start a weekend early or linger, because on Thursday and Sunday nights through March, the per-person room rate is based on the number of days it is from January 1. For example, on Sunday, December 16, a room costs $15 a person.
The newer suites are better choices than some of the older attic rooms, which can be stuffy. If you can, reserve a table for dinner—the seven-course, $80-a-person affair is worth the trip. Breakfast—even at $15 apiece with this package—is a treat too.
