Monday, April 28: Filmfest DC
The focus of this year’s Filmfest DC is on films from or about Latin America. Monday night, La Zona, which looks at class clashes in Mexico City, screens at Regal Cinemas Gallery Place (701 Seventh St., NW; 202-393-2121). More than 70 features, documentaries, and shorts from around the world are being shown as part of this annual festival. Get more information and schedules here.

Tuesday, April 29: Free Ice Cream!
Ben & Jerry’s is celebrating 30 years in the ice-cream business by giving away free cones. Click here for more details.

Wednesday, April 30: The History Boys
If you haven’t already, check out Joy Zinoman’s staging of Alan Bennett’s The History Boys at the Studio Theatre (1501 14th St., NW; 202-332-3300). The play explores issues such as integrity, the right to an elite education, favoritism, and homosexuality. Check out our review and get details here.

Thursday, May 1: Parisian Happy Hour
Celebrate the first day of May, French style! The Phillips Collection and the Alliance Française are hosting a Parisian happy hour at the museum (1600 21st St., NW; 202-387-2151). For $10 in advance or $12 at the door, attendees can enjoy a tour of the museum’s French paintings while a mix of electronica music plays in the background. A contest for best musical selection will also be held, so make sure to bring your iPod along. There will be some light food and a cash bar. Get more details here.
