Our September issue follows 19 of Washington’s most fashionable ladies and gents through a cool night out at the W Hotel. While the clothes do most of the talking in print, the Style Setters themselves get the last word online.

Who: Rockstar Diaries couple Naomi Davis, dance instructor and blogger, and husband, Josh, banking associate

Describe your style in ten words or less.
Naomi: “Vintage-inspired, colorful, classic.”
Josh: “Eclectic, pragmatic, varied, and not what it used to be.”

What do you love about your significant other’s look?
Naomi: “One of the first things I noticed about Josh was the way he dressed. I love that he has the confidence to wear things you never really see, and that he knows how to pair them with the appropriate shoes or blazer to make everything work. I’m glad I don’t have to ever worry about ‘dressing’ my guy.”
Josh: Naomi has a knack for color and matching different patterns. The way she dresses reflects her love of everything pretty, girly, and feminine.”

Favorite places to shop in Washington?
Naomi: “I like Meeps and Annie Creamcheese because they offer such a great variety of second-hand vintage items. And I can always find something I love at Anthropologie in Georgetown.”

Fall gear you can’t wait to wear?
Naomi: “Ankle socks under a chunky heel is a look that’s really growing on me—I think that’s something we’ll be seeing everywhere this fall. I’m also a big fan of the buttoned-up collared shirts, military jackets, and the ’60s trend that’s here for fall.”
Josh: “I’m looking forward to jackets and overcoats—I like the extra storage that comes with them.”

Your signature look?
Naomi: “A fun textured vintage skirt or dress paired with a classic blouse and some colorful heels.”
Josh: “I could always wear a pair of brown leather shoes.”

Style icons?
Naomi: “There are a couple fashion bloggers whose styles I really enjoy. I love the way Jennifer from Sally Jane Vintage  and Megan from Another Day to Dress Up pair vintage pieces with new trends to keep their looks current.”
Josh: “ Over the years, I picked up things I like from friends, strangers on the street, and photos. I’ve been influenced by growing up in the South, living in New York City, where I’ve worked, and spending time in southern Europe.”

Best-dressed Washington neighborhood:
Josh: “Near the Capitol and downtown DC—people there get dressed up for work, important meetings, and night events. I think this is also the most international part of the District, which gives it the most variety.”
