To Do: Washington Design Center Sample Sale

The warehouse-size Washington Design Center is opening its doors to the public tomorrow for a fall sample sale with deep discounts

We don’t think interior designers should have all the fun. That’s why when we saw that the industry-insiders-only Washington Design Center was having an open-to-the-public sample sale this weekend, we put it on our calendar. In big, bold letters.

Located in Southwest DC, the 400,000-square-foot space is home to more than 60 high-end showrooms for everything from handmade wing chairs from Christopher London Furniture to mid-century style credenzas from DSA Associates. The fall sample sale includes a little bit of everything—furniture, lighting, rugs, fabric, accessories—with discounts of up to 75 percent off regular prices.

Industry professionals get first crack at the goods tonight, but the sale opens to the public tomorrow at 10 AM. Admission ($5) benefits Georgetown University Hospital’s pediatrics department.
