Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Mouth-watering photographs, heavy-metal sounds, and European voices

Victoria F. Gaitán’s fabulously titled “Sweet Meat Cherry Whip Flip” photography exhibit opens today at Artisphere. She uses human subjects in a series of still lives to explore themes of pain, beauty, private hells, and much more. The exhibit is on display in the Mezz Gallery through March 12.

The Prix Europa competition brings together the best of European radio, television, and emerging media. The Goethe-Institut is hosting a discussion, with audio excerpts, of some of the highlights from Sweden, Ireland, Norway, and others. 6:30; free.

The acclaimed metal band Jucifer and its wall of sound (15 speaker cabinets and 7,000 watts) are at the Black Cat tonight. The floor-shaking show starts at 9. Buy tickets ($10) at Ticket Alternative.
