The Environmental Film Festival is taking place at various venues through March 27. Highlights include Vanishing of the Bees, a documentary about the struggle of commercial beekeepers narrated by Ellen Page; and LIRA: An Enclave on of Life on the Coast of Death, about the first Marine Reserve—established after a devastating oil spill—which has since become an international model for conservancy. The Trip to Bountiful is at the Round House Theatre through April 3. It’s Horton Foote’s story of a widow returning to her childhood home on the Gulf Coast. Get tickets ($10 to $60) at the Round House Web site.

And the Curtain Rises at the Signature Theatre is a humourous look at the making of the first American musical in the 1860s. The play is running through April 10; purchase tickets ($55 to $87) at Ticketmaster.
