Ever dream of riding a wave? You can learn to hang ten at the
Rehoboth Beach Surf Boarding School.

Although the instructors are hotshot surfers, they’re patient
with students–who can be as young as eight. Classes cover everything from
basic balancing to water safety to the surfer’s code of etiquette, such as
who has the right of way on a wave. Wear a bathing suit and bring a towel;
all other equipment is included.

You can join a group of ten for a two-hour lesson for $65,
create your own group of family and friends for $85 a person, or book a
one-hour private lesson for $105. A professional photographer is on call
to create a photo DVD of your experience for $50.

Classes, which start for the season Memorial Day weekend,
convene right on the boardwalk at the Henlopen Hotel
(302-227-2551), a convenient place to stay.
May 29 through June 28, rates begin at $159. Summer rates (including
Memorial Day weekend) start at $249.
