The New Guard: Duane Gautier
Comments () | Published January 9, 2013

Duane Gautier

CEO and president, Arch Development Corporation

Duane Gautier is giving new life to one of DC’s most neglected areas. The head of Arch Development Corporation, a nonprofit founded to help revitalize Anacostia through the arts, has established galleries, music and poetry events, and other opportunities for artists, such as a three-month showcase of their work in vacant spaces. He points to neighborhoods that have been aided by the arts—such as Liverpool, England, and New York’s SoHo—as evidence that a similar approach can rejuvenate Anacostia.
