Fire Damages Hook, Saloun in Georgetown:A fire broke out in the rear of Hook restaurant in Georgetown Wednesday, causing between at least $50,000 to $100,000 worth of damage, according to fire department estimates. Both Hook and Tackle Box will be closed indefinitely while repairs are made. Nearby Saloun also suffered smoke damage, though the fire did not spread beyond Hook. UPDATE: A spokeswoman for Hook and Tackle Box tells Washingtonian that the investigation into the fire is still ongoing, but they predict the actual damage totals "will be substantially higher" than the numbers the fire department initially offered. The spokeswoman declined to guess on a specific number, but said the $100,000 figure was likely much lower than reality.
