Sure, it’s full of jokes about ignited sewage systems and super-lubricated sledding, but somehow National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation still qualifies as a holiday classic. Catch the 1989 film starring Chevy Chase—and Randy Quaid as his beyond-bizarre Cousin Eddie—at the AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring; 301-495-6720). The movie starts each night at 9:40. Click here for tickets ($10).

Saturday, December 19
Five nationally recognized comedians will form the lineup for “The Raging Jews Of Comedy” at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue (600 I St., NW; 202-408-3100). Gregg Rogell won a contest for “funniest person in Long Island” and has appeared on Caroline’s Comedy Hour, the MTV Half-Hour Comedy, and VH1 Standup Spotlight as well as his own special on Comedy Central.
