FOOD: Here’s hoping you managed to avoid being fooled yesterday. Start this week off with Taste of the Nation at the National Building Museum. The event features food and wine from more than 80 restaurants and chefs, including Bryan Voltaggio and Mike Isabella. All ticket proceeds go to help fight against childhood hunger. STORYTELLING: Members of the Dance Exchange are planning to walk 500 miles from Washington to the heart of coal country in West Virginia, collecting stories along the way. A week before they depart, Cassie Meador will talk about the plan and tell stories from her previous travels at the University of Maryland’s Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. 5:30 PM. Free.

POLITICS: Hope you voted yesterday! By Wednesday evening, we’ll know how it all went down–the Hill Center is hosting a discussion with NBC4’s Tom Sherwood and the Washington Post‘s Nikita Stewart to talk about the election results, as well as how they find sources and break their stories. Free. 7 PM.
Thursday, April 5
PHOTOGRAPHY: FotoDC is hosting an opening party for its Cherry Blossom Photo Contest at the Edison Place Gallery. Thursday’s event features last year’s winners–check out the pictures before you start snapping away this year. Afterward, head to L2 Lounge to throw back a couple drinks and get your dance moves on–cover is $20, and proceeds benefit FotoDC. Edison Lounge: free, 6 PM. L2 Lounge: $20, 8 PM.
