Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Nightlife

Beermania and plenty of Cinco de Mayo fun!

Monday: Bruery Night
Arlington’s beloved dive spot Galaxy Hut hosts a beer tasting with the Southern California suds-maker the Bruery. Five beers, including a cask-conditioned firkin of Rugbrod—a dark brown ale made with rye malt—are available for sampling. There’s no admission charge, and pours are $6 to $9. 6 PM.

Tuesday: Moules et bière
Speaking of beer: Orr Shtuhl, the Washington City Paper’s Beerspotter columnist (who happens to know a thing or two about cocktails), is hosting a special beer dinner at Granville Moore’s. On tap: six seasonal beers paired with a five-course meal. The price of admission, which covers food and drinks, is $65. To reserve a spot, call 202-399-2546. 7 PM.

Wednesday: Cinco de Masa
Masa 14 celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a slew of $5 flavored margaritas, including hibiscus, blueberry, tamarind, and more. Also available at the bar: a tequila-tasting sampler, dubbed the Banderita. The drink specials start at 5 and run through the night. For other great spots to grab a tasty margarita, check out our guide.

Thursday: Post(e)-Fiesta
Continue your Cinco de Mayo festivities at Poste’s outdoor courtyard. Available on the menu: the Flower Power ($9) made with Jose Cuervo silver, fresh lime juice, hibiscus tea, triple sec, and St. Germain elderflower liqueur. You can also order the Lavender Margarita ($11) made with lavender-infused tequila, or the Daisy on Fire ($11), with chili-infused tequila or peach nectar. There’s also a $5 happy-hour special (5 to 7), which includes $5 truffled fries as well as $5 select wines and beers.
