Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

Our picks for the best events going on around town this week.

Monday: Cozy Bars
It's cold out there. Lucky for us, we can pull on sweaters and scarves, duck inside cozy bars, and sip drinks by a fireplace when winter chills our own limbs. Here’s a smattering of Washington pubs and lounges to keep your cheeks rosy and your bodies toasty.

Tuesday: Tequila for All
Oyamel is kicking off its second annual Tequila & Mezcal Festival, and they're starting things right with a free tequila tasting. Head to Oyamel at 5 PM to get your Tuesday tequila fix.

Wednesday: DC Independent Film Festival
Check out feature films, shorts, animation, and documentaries by filmmakers from Washington and around the world. At night, musicians take the stage for the annual independent-music festival. Local jazz, blues, rock, soul, and other acts will perform at venues throughout the area. Passes start at $50.

Thursday: French Happy Hour
Carte Blanche, the French-themed happy hour organized by the Alliance Francaise, takes over the Sixth & Historic Synagogue. Following the happy hour,  local band Bellman Barker will perform. 6 PM. Tickets can be purchased here.
