Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

What to do for fun every day of the week.

Monday, November 24: A Night of Jazz and R&B
A slate of performers, including the Jewels, Dick Smith, and the Legendary Orioles, celebrate the legacy of U Street’s Howard Theatre as a musical mecca of the ’50s and ’60s with a free concert at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage.

Tuesday, November 25: Killer Movie
The Washington Psychotronic Film Society has moved locations to the Meeting Place and now screens films on Tuesday nights. Tonight’s film is 1965’s Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, about three strippers who go on a murder rampage. The screening starts at 8. Free, but a $2 donation is encouraged.

Wednesday, November 26: Everything . . . but the Turkey
Do some good before Thanksgiving and participate in the ninth-annual Everything . . . but the Turkey event that contributes 10,000 meals to homeless shelters and community kitchens around the city. Over 400 volunteers help prepare the meals at the Jewish Community Center. To register as a volunteer, click here.

Thursday, November 27: Thanksgiving (Dance) Celebration
Gobble, gobble. It’s Turkey Day! Check out our guide to restaurants serving special Thanksgiving meals, and if you’re not experiencing a food-induced coma after your meal, we encourage you to attend DC9’s Taintsgiving alternative dance party at 9. $5.
