Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

What to do every night of this week for fun.

Monday, July 21: Half-Priced Beers for Belgian Independence
To be honest, we know very little about Belgian independence, but any cause that gives us specials on delicious beer is a worthy one to us! All day today , in honor of aforementioned independence (177 years worth!), Brasserie Beck will be serving several half-priced Belgian beers. Drink up!

Tuesday, July 22: Sunfold at DC9
Still searching for that perfect summer soundtrack? You might want to stop over at DC9 this evening, where the Raleigh-based band Sunfold is playing. With bright bursts of shimmery pop and Americana folk, the group (an offshoot of the equally talented Annuals), will have you smiling your way through the rest of summer in no time. 9 PM, $8 in advance, $10 at the door.

Wednesday, July 23: A New Happy Hour in Town
The restaurant Corduroy relocated to a 9th Street rowhouse earlier this year, and now they're introducing a new weekday happy hour from 5-7 PM. Settle in at the lovely bar and grab a glass of wine for $6, and a cheese plate for $7.

Thursday, July 24: Free Bands and Free…Cake?
If you still haven't made it over to Tenleytown to check out the free summer concert series, Fort Reno, tonight would be the perfect chance to do so for two reasons: 1) The band Statehood. Including a couple former Dismemberment Plan members, the group plays enthusiastic and angular dance-punkish tunes. 2) Free cupcakes! Every year, Fort Reno holds a the Night of 1000 Cakes, which is more or less what it sounds like—tons of free cupcakes. So come on out. 7:15.
