A new take on a classic and a great local band

THEATER: It’s the last weekend to catch the acclaimed Irish theater company Druid’s production of Penelope, a provocative riff on The Odyssey. Part of Studio Theatre’s ongoing celebration of the work of Irish playwright Enda Walsh, it runs through April 3; buy tickets ($44 to $65) at the theater’s Web site.

CONCERT: Washington-based blues/soul act the Blackberry Belles are performing at the Velvet Lounge. 9 PM; get tickets ($8) at the band’s Facebook page.

DANCE PARTY: Tonight’s dance party at U Street Music Hall, Forward Fest DC, features Sunshine Jones, Buster, DJ Love Groove, and Ray Casil. 10 PM; buy tickets ($10) at Ticket Fly.
