9 New Brunches to Try This Weekend 

Springtime menus, outdoor options, and more bottomless mimosas.

Compass Rose

1346 T St., NW

Katchupuri Benedicts? Maybe not, but the addictive Georgian cheese bread will be on the menu when brunch launches this Sunday. Similar to dinner, the dishes span the globe from a full Irish breakfast to Israeli shakshuka.

When: Sunday, 11 to 3.

DNV Rooftop

1155 14th St., NW

The weather is supposed to warm up this weekend, making outdoor dining an attractive option. Head up to the rooftop of the Donovan House hotel for a new poolside brunch. Zentan chef Yo Matsuzaki creates Asian spins on classics, such as shrimp and grits with shiitake mushrooms and miso-braised short rib hash.

When: Saturday and Sunday, 11 to 4.

Doi Moi

1800 14th St., NW

Chef Haidar Karoum launches weekend brunch at 14th Street’s Southeast Asian spot. Look for traditional dishes like banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes) and barbecued pork banh mi, as well as riffs on Western dishes like steak and eggs with Thai sriracha. Cocktails also get creative, such as a basil tea punch and Asian-spiced bloody Mary.

When: Saturday and Sunday, 11 to 2.

Guajillo

1727 Wilson Blvd., Arlington

Chilaquiles, poached eggs with roasted poblano hollandaise, and pork rind bloodies are on this Mexican spot’s revamped brunch menu of this Arlington Mexican. Prices are fairly gentle, with entrees around $12 and $5 brunch cocktails.

When: Sunday, 11:30 to 2:30

The Occidental

1475 Pennsylvania Ave., NW

Brunch took a winter-long hiatus at this Washington classic near the White House, but it’s officially back for spring. Guests can try American fare on a large outdoor patio like fried green tomato and egg BLTs, or go for springtime creations such as cold poached salmon with fiddleheads and lemon vinaigrette.

When: Saturday and Sunday, to 11 to 2:30

Philos

401 Massachusetts Ave., NW

This Mediterranean eatery in Mt. Vernon Triangle just opened this week, and is ready to roll out weekend brunch. Greek spreads and salads translate from the dinner menu, served alongside eggs dishes, crepes, and brie grilled cheese. A 30-seat patio is open in nice weather.

When: Saturday and Sunday.

Rasika West End

1190 New Hampshire Ave., NW

The first Rasika brunch begins this Sunday, exclusively at the West End location. Favorites like crispy spinach palaak chaat are joined by stuffed kati rolls, Sunday-style curries, and masala omelets. Bottomless mimosas go for $15.

When: Sunday, 11 to 2:30

Redwood

7121 Bethesda Ln., Bethesda

Redwood’s kitchen has ditched its buffet-style brunch for a new a la carte menu. Playful dishes include miniature funnel cakes, creme brûlée French toast, and a breakfast burger on a house-made biscuit. The restaurant also added a bloody Mary menu, and $15 bottomless mimosas.

When: Saturday from 11:30 to 3; Sunday from 10:30 to 3.

Stella Barra Pizzeria

11825 Grand Park Ave., North Bethesda

Chef Jeff Mahin recently began a lunch/brunch menu at the Pike & Rose pizzeria. In addition to pizzas, salads, and sandwiches, guests can make their own drinks at a bloody Mary bar ($10) set with Tito’s Vodka, a homemade bloody mix, ten hot sauces, garnishes like bacon and various pickles, and a selection of salts.

When: Saturday and Sunday, 11 to 4
