When Gourmet editor, memoirist, and all-around great writer Ruth Reichl was at Politics and Prose a few years ago, she followed her reading with a visit to Carole Greenwood’s farmhouse-cool restaurant, Buck’s Fishing and Camping. Last night, she was back in town to promote her new book, Not Becoming My Mother: And Other Things She Taught Me Along the Way, and slipped out with former Washington Post restaurant critic Phyllis Richman. They were going to dinner at—where else?—Komi. So what does the former New York Times critic think of the restaurant we named number one in the city? Thanks to her Twitter feed, we’ve got her 140-characters-or-fewer reviews:Dinner tonight at Komi with Phyllis Richman. Lovely, quiet place with fabulously unquiet food. Surprising, beautiful, utterly satisfying.
Started with tiny slivers of pristine fish (spectacular Maine shrimp), built to seriously crisp, robust hunks of suckling pig, goat. Wines.

Hate shameless self-promotion. But do it. Meanwhile, still thinking about last night’s dinner. Cromesquis of Caesar salad. Extraordinary!
