Truck Stops: Where to Find Lunch on Wheels

Every morning, we’ll let you know where the area’s food trucks are rolling.

Washington has food trucks in all corners of the region today, with a good crew at L'Enfant for government workers as well as a strong showing in downtown DC. Northern Virginia is crawling with mobile vendors—and that's where we'd like to go for Doug the Food Dude's new lobster-roll wrap. Watch out, Red Hook Lobster, you've got competition. A map and a list of truck hot spots after the jump.

DC's West End and GWU area, where you'll find the DC Pie Truck (24th and M sts., NW), Carnivore BBQ (20th St. and Virginia Ave., NW), Sabor'a Street, and Pleasant Pops (20th St. and Virginia Ave., NW, from noon to 1; then 24th and M sts., NW, from 1 to 2; then 24th and I sts., NW, from 3 to 7).

Franklin Park (13th and K sts., NW), where you'll find Curbside Cupcakes (Pinky 1's third stop) and a Sâuçá truck. Pedro and Vinny's is nearby at 15th and K streets, Northwest, and a Sâuçá truck is at Farragut Square (17th and I sts., NW).

L'Enfant (Sixth St. and Maryland Ave., SW), where you'll find PORC, Sweet Bites Truck (first stop), Merlindia from Fojol Bros., and DC Love Bites (second stop).

Metro Center (around 12th and G sts., NW) Benethiopia from Fojol Bros., a Sâuçá truck, El Floridano, and DC Empanadas. Curbside Cupcakes is nearby at 14th and G streets, Northwest (Pinky 2's first stop).

Navy Yard area, where you'll find Austin Grill Truck (First and M sts., SE), Sol Mexican Grill, and Eat Wonky (Yards Park at Fourth and N sts., SE).

Northern Virginia, where you'll find Doug the Food Dude (Ninth and N. Stuart sts., Ballston) with a new lobster-roll wrap, Bada Bing DC (Crystal City), District Taco (Rosslyn), and Curbside Cupcakes (Pinky 2's third stop in Pentagon City, fourth stop in Crystal City).

Union Station, where you'll find the Big Cheese Truck and a Sâuçá truck.

Upper Northwest DC, where you'll find both Red Hook Lobster Trucks: Lobby 1: Friendship Heights (near Jenifer St. and Wisconsin Ave., NW); Lobby 2: Tenleytown (near Wisconsin Ave. and Albemarle St., NW).
