Valentine’s Day Wedding + Simple and Sweet in Alexandria

We do the research so you don’t have to: inspiring real Washington weddings from our favorite blogs.

Valentine’s Day was this week, and we’re hoping a few of you received a little something sparkly along with your heart-shaped boxes of candy. We also got into the V-Day spirit, meaning not only that we ate everything in sight that contained sugar, but we also got to enjoy this fabulous Virginia Valentine’s Day wedding photographed by Adam Barnes, featured on, count ’em, two wedding blogs—very exciting. A red color scheme can be tough to pull off, but it’s so well done and pretty darn inspiring here.
Grey Likes Weddings and Southern Weddings

Weddings don’t have to be huge, overdone affairs to be amazing. So we were so happy to see this pared-down yet stunning Alexandria event, planned by our friends at Ritzy Bee Events. We love the image of the bride and her bridesmaids making their bouquets together the morning of the wedding. And the map sign-in board is genius.
Aisle Say

So much to love about this Maryland farm wedding, shot by Hannah Colclazier, a recent DC transplant. That darling flower girl and ring bearer, the sweet and simple ceremony programs, and the rustic floral arrangements—swoon!
Style Me Pretty

This wedding is total classic gorgeousness—again with the adorable children! Lush florals, cute coasters, and a pretty cake, too. Plus a horse-drawn carriage to close the night, such a fairy-tale ending.
