Washington’s Adoptable Pets of the Week: April 10, 2015

Jasper (above) has been looking for his forever home for a while but no one knows why because he’s such a great dog. He is an adorable hound mix with loads of personality. This big-eared guy is great with other dogs and all people. He sleeps in his crate all night and doesn’t make a peep. He likes chew toys and a big comfy bed to lay on. He loves ear rubs and loves to be brushed. He is doing well with his house training, corrects behaviors very easily, and is a smart boy. He walks well on a leash and would make an excellent jogging partner. Jasper was either lost while hunting or dumped in the woods. Trish is a happy, carefree dog who would make an excellent addition to any family willing to give her lots of love. She is content with relaxing on her bed but also loves to go out for long walks. She is used to the crate, walks well on a leash, and has learned house manners very quickly. She even runs right into the crate and sits for her meals! She is currently fostered with two other dogs, and is also good with cats and kids. Because Trish loves companionship so much, she would do best in a home with another dog or with people who can stay home with her most of the day. Missy and Midnight are ten-year-old Shih Tzu/Brussels Griffon mixes. Missy is 18 pounds and Midnight is 15 pounds. They have been together for their whole lives and find comfort in being with each other. Like all besties, they share everything and are very similar – sometimes it is hard to tell them apart! Even though they’re older dogs, Missy and Midnight have tons of pep. Since they are bonded, you can take both of them home for a single adoption fee. Percy Ann is an American bulldog-mix who cannot wait to find her new home. At two years old, this beautiful girl is through her puppy phase; however, she does have some extra energy to burn. She loves to play with her humans, take nice long walks – maybe even a run – and get her nose to the ground to check out her surroundings. But she’s also up for a nice afternoon on the couch. Percy Ann has a beautiful white, medium-length coat and green/hazel eyes. She has been spayed and microchipped, and is up-to-date on her vaccinations. Cherry Blossom, a stunning tortoiseshell cat, is charming as well as pretty. She’s also quite the conversationalist, speaking in short chirp-like meows. This three-year-old girl loves playing with toys, including feather wands and stuffed mice. She’s also very affectionate and enjoys being stroked. She would make an excellent feline companion. Annie is a sweet hound-mix. She is about six months old and currently weighs about 45 pounds. She will likely be fairly large when she is older. She is in a foster home with a toddler and other dogs. Annie would enjoy daily walks, runs or hikes, since she loves to sniff new places. Annie loves kids and other dogs. She hasn’t met a cat yet but she is the perfect age to introduce to all family members. Annie can be shy at first, but she warms up very quickly and since she’s still in puppy-mode, she’s very playful. Annie is crate trained and is learning new commands like sit and stay. Blue Belle is a two-year-old beagle mix who weighs about 25 pounds. This sweet girl was rescued with her eight puppies. Blue Belle was a great mom to them but is ready for some relaxation. She is getting ready to be spayed and treated for heartworms. She is a great dog who deserves a loving home that will make up for her previous neglectful owners—she does have some separation issues because she wants so badly to be loved and with her people. She loves to snuggle or stay right at your feet. Blue Belle would likely do best in a home rather than an apartment.
