Dewey & LeBoeuf welcomed back Thomas Glassic, who practiced at the firm before his most recent stint as senior counsel for the House Financial Services Committee. He rejoins Dewey as counsel in the insurance-regulatory department.
Dwight Smith is now a partner in the financial-services practice at Morrison & Foerster. He was previously a partner at Alston & Bird.
Mary Burke Baker, previously a Georgetown Government Affairs Fellow and an Internal Revenue Service staffer detailed to the Senate Finance Committee, joined K&L Gates as a government-affairs adviser in the public-policy group.
Two other attorney moves to report: Robert Steinwurtzel is now a partner in Baker Hostetler’s environmental practice. He joined the firm from Bingham McCutchen. And David Leviss, previously chief oversight counsel for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, is now senior counsel at O’Melveny & Myers, where he focuses on white-collar defense and corporate investigations.
Finally, several Washington lawyers are celebrating their recent promotions to partner. Emma Hand and Presley Reed made partner in SNR Denton’s Washington office. And Christopher Loveland, Jason Northcutt, and Keith Szeliga are Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton’s new Washington-based partners.
