Tuesday, December 1
They say it’s better to give than to receive, but why not do both? Play Santa to Washington’s four-legged residents at Holiday Luck: A Lucky Dog Dinner, held at Hudson Restaurant & Lounge to benefit Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. Executive Chef Ryan Arnold will create a four-course dinner with organic-wine pairings, and there’ll be magicians, dancers, and musicians. Click here for tickets ($95); 6:30.

Friday, December 4
Pet photographer Amanda Jones will be in town Friday through Sunday to take holiday portraits at A.K.A. Spot (2509 N. Franklin Rd., Arlington; 703-248-0093). Click here to sign up. Be warned: Jones’s work can get a little pricey—a portrait session costs $1,400.

Saturday, December 5
Ready to add another stocking to the mantle? The Washington Humane Society will sponsor a cat adoption event at the Big Bad Woof (117 Carroll St., NW; 202-291-2404) from noon to 3.

Pets can get their photo snapped with Santa at the Dog Shop (1625 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-337-3647) Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 4. All pets are welcome, and proceeds benefit the Washington Humane Society. Participants will receive a treat. $15.

Sunday, December 6
The Washington Animal Rescue League and Bosque the Wonder Dog will host a holiday glass-art sale from noon to 5. Artist Perry Mackrill’s work will be for sale, and 10 percent of the proceeds will go to WARL. The sale will be held at 8132 West Beach Drive, Northwest.
