Looking for a more affectionate Valentine to snuggle up with? The Washington Animal Rescue League brings back Catapalooza II, its annual cat-adoption festival, as a Valentine’s Day treat. Come meet your new friend in the organization’s newly renovated cat-adoption area and playground. There are no cat-adoption fees at this special event, and there are free mimosas and cake. Grab-bag gifts and other prizes will be available. 2 to 5.
The city’s love affair with cats continues at Chateaux-Animaux (524 Eighth St., SE), where Capital Cats representatives will host a feline-adoption event from noon to 3.
Forget roses or candy hearts—give your Valentine a one-of-a-kind gift this year with a paw-impression ornament made by Julie Jordan of Newton’s Paw. Jordan will be at Chateaux-Animaux (524 Eighth St., SE) from 11 to 3. Proceeds go toward local nonprofits.
