Sell Your House! Get Famous!

HGTV is looking for Washington sellers for a new reality show

Attention all aspiring reality-TV stars: HGTV’s My First Sale is looking for sellers in the Washington area. The docudrama—a spinoff of the popular show My First Place—follows homeowners who are trying to sell their first home. If you’re up for it, you’ll have to open your home for about ten days of shooting. A cast and camera crew will follow you as you prep your home for sale, set a price, negotiate with buyers, and ultimately sell your house.

The financially modest need not apply. My First Sale delves into the sellers’ personal and financial challenges—you’ll need to be willing to share details such as how much you paid for your home, the amount of equity you have, the amount of money you’ve put into preparing the home for resale, and how much you plan to spend on your next place.

According to a press release, taping will continue through the winter. If you’ve never seen the show before, you can watch full episodes here. And, if you’re interested in applying, contact Andrew Olthuis at aolthuis@highnoontv.com.
