Splurge vs. Steal

In many houses, end tables are a functional spot to place lamps, picture frames, and coasters. For this week’s splurge vs. steal, we set out to find two unusual end tables that would never blend into the background.

Splurge

Les Forets from Ligne Roset looks more like a work of art than a piece of furniture. Laser-cut steel mimics a forest canopy and the reflective base creates a shimmery background. Nearly 16 inches tall, Les Forets ($1,360) is available in stone-grey and grey-brown.

Ligne Roset, 3306 M St., NW; 202-333-6390.

Steal

The Mirrored Dragonfly Table from Pier 1 Imports has etched dragonflies on an antiqued mirror surface. Measuring 17 inches tall, the copper table is $99.98

Pier 1 Imports has locations in Virginia, DC and Maryland.
