Easter marks the first emergence of spring florals and dresses for the stylish Washingtonian. Whether you’re headed to church, a family brunch, or a gathering with friends, a new outfit will surely add a spring to your step. Here are our picks for what to wear to welcome in spring.

Floating on Air

Leifsdottir “Cloud” organdy skirt, $288, Nordstrom.
We’re absolutely in love with this limited-edition brand, originally created as Anthropologie’s high-end line and sold at stores such as Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s. This pink skirt can be dressed up with a silk tank top and jacket or worn with an oxford and pretty flats to work.

Cutting-Edge Style
Sariah “Charlotte” skirt, $495, Barneys Co-op.
Show off your cutting-edge style with this feminine yellow skirt by Sariah. It’s available exclusively at Barneys Co-op, the only store outside New York City and Los Angeles to carry the line.

Pretty in Pink
Maggy London scoop-neck sheath dress, $118, Nordstrom.
Sport this stylish sheath dress with a statement necklace for a look that’s totally 2009.

Boho Chic
Milly tie-dye dress, $450, Neiman Marcus.
Channel your inner hippie chick with Milly’s tie-dye number. Not only is it figure-flattering on a variety of bodies, but it covers enough to wear it on a chilly day or to church. Sport it with gladiator sandals (flat, natch).

Signature Splurge
Jean Paul Gaultier Trench dress, $2,395, Bergdorf Goodman.
This dress may not be recession-friendly, but the style is timeless enough to make it worth the splurge.

Coming Up Orchids
Moulinette Soeurs “Fen Orchid” dress, $168, Anthropologie.
The tiered skirt of this Anthropologie find adds visual interest to an eye-popping number.

Fabu-less-ly Floral
Taylor Ruffle Trim Ponte dress, $126.75 (on sale), Macy’s.
Femmes fatales of all ages will be scrambling to grab this too-chic ruffle dress, a steal at $127. Wear a simple bracelet to complete the look.

First Lady Fab
Mod floral dress, $188, J. Crew.
Channel Michelle Obama’s signature style with this dress from J. Crew.

Tied With a Bow
American Living Tiered mock wrap dress, $82.50, JC Penney.
Wrap your hands around this wrap dress (a near dead ringer for the $400 Diane von Furstenburg version from last season) and don’t let go. It’s a steal at less than $100.

Orange Crush
Trina Turk “Martinique” sweater dress, $248, Saks Fifth Avenue.
In case the weather outside is frightful this Easter (as it so often is in April), sport this slightly heavier-weight sweater dress in an eye-catching hue. It looks good on all ages but would be flattering for a woman anywhere from age 20 to 50, given the luxurious draping and modest hemline.

Mom and Me
Lily Pulitzer “Mommy and Me” looks for Easter, Flossie dress, $128 (kids).
If you want to create a family portrait, there’s no better look than Lily Pulitzer, which has a fabulous line of spring ‘Mommy and Me’ pairings, which work for baby, child, and teen in a single pattern. We wish we had a little one to dress in this “Flossie” jumper.
