Free Cupcakes at Red Velvet Cupcakery

If you think the line at Georgetown Cupcake is bad, we’re guessing the one outside the just-opened Dupont Circle location of Red Velvet Cupcakery (inside TangySweet at 2029 P St., NW) will put it to shame—today at least. Why? From noon until 1 AM, mini-cupcakes are free (regular-size cupcakes are $3.25). Flavors, created by former  DC Coast/Acadiana/Ceiba pastry chef David Guas, include devil’s food (chocolate on chocolate), summertime (lemon cake, coconut icing), and both vegan and regular versions of the namesake red velvet. If standing in the humidity gets to you, you can always hit up TangySweet for a fro-yo refresher.
