The Japan Film Night and Earthquake Relief at Landmark E Street Cinema benefits the Save the Children Japan Earthquake Emergency Fund. The film is Kuroeneko (Black Cat), a creepy ghost story set in war-torn medieval Japan. The film starts at 7:45; buy tickets ($15, includes a $5 donation) at EventBrite.
L2 Lounge is hosting One Night for Nippon: A Japan Recovery Effort, which celebrates the best of Japanese culture. Guests are encouraged to make donations of $25 and above to the American Red Cross Japan Response. 8 to 11; RSVP to pergrin@pekvida.com.

U Street Music Hall is hosting a party featuring the talent of DJ Tittsworth. Admission is $10, and 100 percent of donations goes to the Red Cross.
An estimated 100,000 children have been affected by the disaster in Japan. Capital Hearts for Japan is hosting a fundraiser from 6 to 10 at the Park at Fourteenth with 100 percent of the donations benefiting Save the Children. The Park will donate an additional $3 for every person attending the event, and there’ll be a silent auction and free cocktails from 9 to 10.

“Restore: Japan” at the Lamont Bishop Gallery is curated by ReadySetDC and Curating for a Cause. The exhibit will feature works by 32 of the area’s top visual artists. There’ll also be an art auction and cash bar. Suggested donation is $10; proceeds benefit the Japanese Red Cross Society. 7 to 11.

The Pink Tie Party is holding an online auction, with proceeds going to the Red Cross’s Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. The auction is online now through March 27. Big-ticket items include a trip to Paris on OpenSkies, American Airlines tickets, gift certificates to area restaurants, wine, spa treatments, and more.
Now through March 28, Buddha Bar is collecting non-food items (think clothes, bedding, toiletries) to send to Japan. They can be dropped off during the restaurant’s normal operating hours: 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM to 2 AM.
Donations to the Red Cross can be made through the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s donation site.
