The Downtown DC Melting Pot Closes This Weekend

The ten-year-old melted cheese destination shuts its doors for good on Sunday.

The Melting Pot restaurant at 1220 19th Street, Northwest, will close on Sunday, November 11, a rep for the national chain confirmed on Friday.

The 19th Street location will have normal hours on Friday and Saturday and is inviting guests to reserve tables for a “fondue farewell,” according to the rep.

While the rep would not say much about the reason for the closure, she said the owner is currently in the process of trying to place staff at the Melting Pot’s other area locations—Arlington, Reston, and Gaithersburg—none of which has plans to close. The DC Melting Pot has been in operation since 2002.
