Cheesesteak Takeover Begins at Taylor Gourmet

Too lazy to travel to H Street? Here is how to try Taylor Charles cheesesteaks closer to home.

Everyone loves the Atlas District—and also loves to exaggerate about what a pain it is to get there. (The lament is so common, it earned a line in the now-classic “Shit People in DC Say” video). So if you are curious about the cheesesteaks from Taylor Gourmet sister spot Taylor Charles Steak & Ice—but have not made it to H Street to try one—now is your chance.

Beginning Tuesday, May 28, at 11 AM, Taylor Charles will make 50 cheesesteaks at four of its DC Taylor Gourmet stores. Choose a rib-eye steak or a version with chicken breast. They are available with or without onions and with your choice of cheese (homemade whiz, white whiz, provolone, or American.) Bonus: You get a free Italian ice with the purchase of a steak or a salad. If you would like some background on Taylor Charles, read our full review and watch the adjoining video interview with co-owner Casey Patten.

Sandwiches are doled out on a first come, first served basis; see the schedule after the jump.
