No Fish: Kaz Okochi Closes Casual Sushi Spot Oh Fish!

Sorry, downtowners, no more customizable sushi rolls for you. As Popville first reported, chef Kaz Okochi shuttered Oh Fish!, his fast-casual concept at 1103 19th Street, Northwest. The restaurant opened just about two years ago.

Okochi, who owns Kaz Sushi Bistro and is a partner with restaurateur Richard Sandoval at Masa 14, El Centro D.F., and Ambar, says he closed the design-your-own-maki spot because the concept wasn’t profitable in its current location thanks to high rents and lunch-only service. Currently there’re no plan to seek out a new home for the concept, but an Oh Fish! station still operates in the Foggy Bottom Whole Foods.
