We have been waiting a long time for this one. G, the 46-seat sandwich spot attached to Mike Isabella’s new Greek place Kapnos at 14th and W, will officially open its doors on Friday, July 26, a rep announced Tuesday morning. Isabella opened the first G in New Jersey earlier this year.

The restaurant logo has been burnt into the handsome wooden booths that line G—connected to Kapnos via a hallway. The menu features sandwiches stuffed with the smoky meats that spin on spits at the small-plates restaurant, which began serving earlier this month. Other options include a chicken Parm, a meatball sandwich, and a spicy mushroom panino.

Evenings, Isabella will offer a reservations-only, four-course family-style Italian dinner; the menu will be driven by the ingredients available that day. That will run Wednesday through Saturday and will cost $40 per person before tax, tip, and drinks. It debuts August 3. Sunday Gravy nights—featuring Italian-American classics such as red sauce with pork shoulder, meatballs, and sausage, Caesar salad, and fried calamari—start August 11.

G. 2201 14th St., NW.
