It was game on from the moment Christina Holden, and William Quinn met through WAKA Kickball & Social Sports. Christina, a marketing specialist, recalls her first impression of Bill: “He had great legs and was super-competitive.” A first date on the rooftop of Perrys in Adams Morgan led to 18 months of dating; then Bill, a government consultant, sent Christina on an adventure. In order for Christina to get her “prize”—an engagement ring—Bill set up a scavenger hunt across the city that took her to all the places that were important to the start of their relationship. “The hunt ended at the World War II Memorial under the Washington column,” says the bride. “Bill told me that the night was not about our past, but about our future—and then proposed.” A year and a half later came an elegant wedding celebration that also paid homage to the city.
