New Orleans Inspired Wedding at Trump Winery

Jordan Malcolm and James Craig Jr. celebrated with a s'mores bar at their fall wedding.

Charlottesville, with all of her vineyards, makes for a beautiful backdrop for any wedding ceremony, and Trump Winery is no exception. We love how Jordan Malcolm and James Craig Jr. made the day their own with festive signs throughout the space, a delicious s’mores bar, and sports team swag worn by the groomsme–all of which was caught on camera by Kait Winston of Once Like a Spark Photography.

When Jordan began her first day on the job, she couldn’t have guessed that her boss, James, was going to be quite so attractive. Though he was a bit bossy for her taste, she didn’t mind one bit when he asked her out on a date, just two days after they’d met. He took her to Fort Washington Park in Maryland for a picnic beneath the fall foliage, and this romantic outing was the starting point for their two-year relationship.

On Halloween evening, James had set up a scavenger hunt for Jordan in their apartment. Jordan enjoyed the game, but she loved it even more when she received her prize at the end—a beautiful engagement ring, buried in a basket of Halloween candy.

For their wedding on November 21, 2014, the pair drove down to Charlottesville to the beautiful Trump Winery. Somewhere along the way, Jordan’s custom veil disappeared, but her bridesmaids were able to track down a new cathedral length veil before it was time for the wedding to begin. They decked out their reception space with royal blue accents and long farm tables, and the wall behind the head table was lit with a custom monogram.

The guests danced and snapped shots in the photobooth, all the while staying energized with sugar from the three-tier naked cake and s’mores bar. And at the end of the night, after the last s’more was eaten and the last dance completed, Jordan and James headed out on their honeymoon to sunny California.
