Union Market Just Got Massively Bigger: Here’s Everything You Need to Know

New shops, new spaces, and even more kombucha.

Today, Union Market launched a closely-revolving satellite, expanding further into the neighborhood and taking over even more of our lazy Sundays with Lab 1270, a mixed-use “retail, experience, and work space.”

Located diagonally across 5th Street from Union Market’s main hub, Lab 1270 will bring in pop-ups, capsule collections, and experience-based vendors, like Craft Kombucha and the folks over at #ACreativeDC, to provide a series of rotating, seasonal events. This holiday season, Salt & Sundry and photographer Emma McAlary will team up to provide portrait sessions, and there will also be gift wrapping and wreath workshops.

The current retailers include Southern sartorialist Ann Mashburn, artisan textile makers Living Threads, Dunn Lewis Motorcycle Club, hip childrens’ outfitter Niko + Ava, classy women’s clothier Ron David, Thursday Boot Co., and athleisure brand S3 Active.

Photographer Master Williams, whose work includes the GQ Insider series, will be one of the space’s first featured artists, along with Lisa Shirk.

Lab 1270 is open Thursday-Sunday, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
