If you just got engaged, you may be feeling equal parts elated and overwhelmed. Wedding planning is no joke: You’re planning the biggest celebration of your life, likely with no experience in the event industry.

But have no fear! There are seasoned professionals–and talented ones at that–who can provide you with insider tips as you prep your dream day. On March 23, Danielle Couick of Magnolia Bluebird Design & Events is gathering select area wedding pros to share their insights at FYI-DO: Wedding Smarts Before the Planning Starts. Couick will spill on the five most important actions you can take before you get started planning, while the panel will share practical advice you can use on your trip down the aisle.

The event will take place at The Decatur House (1610 H St., NW) from 6:30 to 8:30 PM next Wednesday evening. Panelists and sponsors for the evening include professionals from Occasions Caterers, Syzygy Events International, Perfect Settings The Decatur House, Amaryllis Floral & Event Design, MJ Valet, Crystal Strings & Sterling Artist, Photojournalism by Rodney Bailey, Meant To Be Calligraphy, Frost Lighting, and Rose’s Arsenal Design Studio.

Tickets for the event are $39 and can be purchased on Eventbrite. All event registration fees will be donated to support The Alzheimer’s Association.
