Anyone can take photos in the park–but the planning for Irish Britt and Trés Savage’s beautiful engagement photos with Natarsha Wright Photography is evident in their stylish coordinating looks and the cute signs and props they brought along for the shoot, and it just goes to show that having a little fun with it only improves your engagement photos.

Though Irish and Trés originally met during a social gathering with mutual friends during their undergraduate years in North Carolina, graduation was when the sparks really began to fly. They spotted one another through the crowd of thousands, and met up afterwards, exchanging contact information so they could stay in touch. Several weeks later, they met up at Coastal Flats in Tysons, and spent their time together talking five year goals and aspirations.

They’d dated for four years when Trés, on a mission to introduce Irish to more sporting events, bought tickets to take Irish to a Nationals game. During a break to grab some food during the game, Trés grabbed Irish’s hand and began to profess his love for her. “God has moved me in a way I couldn’t have imagined,” he said before getting down on one knee.

For their engagement photos, Trés and Irish were joined by Natarsha Wright Photography at Meridian Hill Park for some beautiful outdoor portraits with a “classy glam” theme. They started off with coordinating (notice the goal is coordinating–not matching!) outfits–chambray shirts with pops of maroon–before changing into a more formal look.

Trés and Irish came prepared with cute props for their session–Scrabble tiles for spelling out “love” and “forever,” an ampersand sign, an “S” monogram and “Savage” banner for Trés’ last name, and the numbers of their wedding date. With the help of props and their stylish looks, they were able to dress up the already-lovely park setting with some more playful elements. Trés and Irish plan to marry in Norfolk, Virginia on June 17, 2017.
