Though the 116 King Holiday Pop-Up that’s coming to Old Town Alexandria on November 10 is in reality a program sponsored by the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership (AEDP) to promote the neighborhood’s retail, the market itself actually sounds pretty cool. This is especially true if you’re a New Englander who loves everything preppy, as the pop-up is partnering with The Skinny Dip, a seasonal shop in Nantucket that sells a “well-curated mix of men’s and women’s brands that have strong ties to New England,” according to the website.

The 116 King Holiday Pop-Up will incorporate 13 of the brands marketed by The Skinny Dip with at least an additional 15 brands of its own. From Artemis Design Co.’s pattered loafers to Ellsworth & Ivey’s heritage fashion to Baltimore-made leather goods from Almanac Industries, there’s going to be lots of preppy, American brands available for you to start checking off your holiday gift list. And, as part of the work to promote shopping in Old Town, those who visit the pop-up will receive a map of other Old Town boutiques to visit while they’re in the area.

“We’re going to give every shopper at 116 King a map of other boutiques to visit,” said Jennifer Kearney Desiderio, who helped dream up the pop-up, in a press release. “We all win when there are more reasons to come to Old Town.”

The 116 King Holiday Pop-Up market will run November 10 through December 31 at 116 King Street, Alexandria. The pop-up will be open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM.
