On Saturday, November 19, one of our fave furniture stores launched a pop-up at Union Market’s Lab 1270. The West Elm @ Lab 1270 shop is taking over 6,130 square feet in the cool, industrial space, and filling it with their contemporary home furnishings in addition to locally made products as part of the brand’s “Makers Residency Program.”

As part of this program, West Elm is hosting local artisans Samantha Testa of Painted Palettes and Kaitlyn Morrison of Morrison Makers within the pop-up shop, which will include workshops with the makers. Additionally, the pop-up will sell local goods from nine DC craftsmen, including Foxwood Co.’s wooden planters and dishes, Typecase Industries’ printed paper goods, Forty Third Place’s reclaimed-wood trays, and Waxing Kara’s beauty products made with Maryland beeswax, among others.

The pop-up is currently open at Lab 1270 across the street from Union Market, 1309 Fifth St., NE, and it will be open Tuesday through Friday from 11 AM to 8 PM and Saturdays and Sundays 10 AM to 8 PM.
